Weather fronts

Their are four different types of weather fronts that make up our weather. Their is a cold front, warm front, stationary front, and occluded front.

cold front= is when a front of cold air comes in over a warmed area and the heat then
rises above the cold air.

warm front= is when a front of warm air comes in and gets rid of the cold air and at the same time it is slowly rising.

stationary front= when a cold and warm air front both come in at opposite directions and they clide causing the cold air and warm are to split into 2 different sections.

occluded front= is when their are to cold fronts going on causing the warm air to rise.

Acid Rain

Acid rain is very dangerous to life and the enviorment. It is rain with acid in it and this rain eats away at anything damageing structures, buildings, and the enviorment. It's so bad that it even kills alot of animals evry year. Acid rain is caused by polution and harmful things to our enviorment. The main one is fuel, we take cars for granet. It's a nice quick transportation but it harms our world. Over years of polution the polution gets in the air causeing acid rain. To prevent acid rain is realy easyer then what we think. All that needs to happen is for evryone to be more careful and to start careing more about our enviorment mening to cut down on fuel and energy.

Earths Atmosphere

Earth is a very unique planet. Its the only planet that we know of that could with stain life. Most of this reason why the Earth is so unique is because of it's atmosphere. Because of earths atmosphere it has a stable weather meaning that it doesn't get to hot or to cold because the atmosphere holds heat within the earth and it keeps heat out from entering earth. It also keeps earth alive. Earth is constantly changing meaning that if you leave a foot print in dirt it would disappear over time. Unlike the moon or other planets without a atmosphere the foot print will be their forever. Also the most important thing about earths atmosphere is that it protects earth from falling debrea or asteroids or comments. When a objects enters earths atmosphere it causes a lot of friction on the object causing it to burn up the object before it the object even gets close to earths atmosphere. Because of earths atmosphere earth is very different and unique from other planets or moons in space.

Summaries

Space Exploration
Rockets are made up of three stages. The first is the atlas. The atlas uses solid fuel boosters and liquid fuel engines to launch the rocket into space. The second stage is the centaur which helps maneuver the rocket in space. The third stage is the payload, which is a space craft carrier.

Space Program
NASA was a space program that was created in 1958. It sent many astronauts to explore space. By doing this they learned a whole lot about space. They eventually sent another space craft called Apollo 13 to space to explore space more but then the oxygen tank blew up causing ciaos they had to repair the ship and get back to earth. So after that incident their sending rockets with no humans but instead are controlled by machine.

Exploring Space Today
Today we got the state of art technology. Today in space ships there is such a thing called a personal satellite assistant. It has sensors equipped so it can monitor temperature, pressure and air quality because of this personal satellite assistant it will alert astronauts with any problems. It has a video phone that will allow it to communicate with anyone in the world.

Using Space Science on Earth
NASA receives less than 1% of US spending fees. NASA says that every dollar a person donates they will return 7 dollars to the economy. They say they will create more jobs, taxes, and economic growth. But people argue that the government could spend their money on better things than space. But NASA argues that the more we know about space the better chance we have to learn more about ourselves and ways to benefit mankind.

Zoom

In science class we watched a video called zoom. It was a movie about what our universe and how we look like from up close and far away. I noticed in the movie it zoomed in and out by the powers of ten. It changes the way you look at things when you see it in a different prospectives. You seen everything far away showing how our ecosystem and universe works and you zoom in and see how the big things are made up of small particles and matter and how they work together to make something amazing.
As for us just being human we only can see things in a normal prospective meaning that we can't see things up very close or very far away. But when you do get to see things up close and far away like from telescopes and satellites it changes the way we think of things. Because we get a better understanding of things and how they work and what they are made up of and how they affect other things.
Many people would be interested in the information you gather from looking at things in different prospectives. For example astronomers, astronauts, actually i think every one would be interested in the knowledge we gain from looking at things in different prospectives. Well i know scientists are more interested in a close prospective because it tells them allot on how the little Adams and matter create something amazing. I also know that when we start astronomy in science we are going to be using allot of different prospectives to determine and to observe why something is.

Enigma Box

In another boring ordinary day of school Mrs. Casey decides to do another science experiment. This experiment seemed kind of stupid and boring but I found it to be an ok experiment this time. It involved a container, something to make holes, a straw, and liquid. This experiment was refreshment on the scientific abilities we learned and studied in class.
This experiment we did together in class, it was called an Enigma Box. This box well at one point it was a milk carton, anyways it was a hollow box with a tube coming out it's back. This box had two holes on the side. One hole was small and, the other one was a fair size I guess. When this box was all the way full with liquid or like Mrs. Casey likes to call it Blu Kelly's urine it leaks out the tube out the back at a steady pace until the liquid is all gone. I thought this could be used as a way to tell time because of it's steady pace, but like usually I thought wrong.
At first I didn't know how the Enigma Box worked. So like the way I am (lazy) I believed Mrs. Casey when she said it was magic. But she made us guess what really makes the Enigma Box work though. So I examined the box carefully and I observed it the best of my ability. So I came up with a thought that the Enigma Box was a hollow cube with a small hose though it so that when it gets to full it leaks it all out at a steady pace.
Like usual Mrs. Casey told us how the Enigma Box really works. She told us that she tore open the top of the box and imp laced a looped straw. Then she poked two holes in the box so that air could get through and another hole for the tube to go through the back. She did this so when she filled the box all the way to its maximum captivity the liquid will flow out of the box from the straw at a steady pace. Also those two holes that she made, air went into the box and it helped push the liquid through the straw and with gravity it made all the liquid flow out. Ha-ha I guess it is magic.
